Others will play a very large, supportive, and heart-warming role in your life in January, in ways you've not seen in a very long time. As January begins, a crown of stars will shine in your partnership sector and those stars will coax you to think about merging your energies with another person. You may have become engaged at one of the holidays last month, or you may do so now, in January. All sorts of partnerships, even business ones, will glow brilliantly.
The new moon that appeared last month, on December 27, will still be sending you golden vibrations during the first few days of January. If you are in love, this is your time to commit.
If you are an artist, actor, writer, or photographer, you can now sign an agent, publicist, manager, or other expert to help you. Because these planets are so rarely at your side, your prospects for success with this person will be sensational. Even if you are not a creative type, you can now choose an accountant or lawyer, with very fine results. If you ARE the professional, you can now take on new clients, ones you will stay with a long time, and the association will be profitable.
If possible, sign papers to collaborate together from January 1-4, for the vibrations you will enjoy would be simply the best of a decade. Mars, the energy planet, will keep your thinking focused on your partner, and will also give you the courage to take the plunge if you have been hesitant to do so.
If the deal is a business one, in your enthusiasm to sign - and you will feel it, certainly - be careful about protecting your interests as you may be tempted to give your partner just about anything … a little too much! It's great to be excited, but in early January, know that you could go a little overboard! That's a small downside, but I did want to mention it.
The caveat is that you must act soon, as Mercury, planet of contracts and communication, will retrograde from January 11 to February 1. That is not a time to sign any important papers or to begin any new ventures.
January will be a very big month for other reasons. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will make a very monumental move into Aquarius on January 5. It takes Jupiter approximately 12 years to circle the Sun, so Jupiter spends about a year in each sign. Jupiter has not visited Aquarius since 1997.
Once Jupiter enters Aquarius on January 5, your prospects for receiving a large chunk of money will brighten almost immediately. The eighth house, where Jupiter, giver of gifts and good fortune, will visit throughout 2009, rules money not normally earned as salary but as a one-time chunk of cash that is given to you outright or loaned so that you can see a dream materialize. This has to be good news on many levels, so let's have a look at the ways you might gain.
If you are starting a business, venture capitalists will look at your business plan with interest, and you will more easily persuade them to invest in your business. You may gain from an insurance company claim or in a court case. If you are in the process of settling the financial side of a divorce, you will likely feel that the final agreement is fair, possibly even generous.
This house that Jupiter will visit also rules commissions, bonuses, and perks, so if you can't quite get approval for a decent raise, you might try to get better health insurance or the key to the executive gym. Be creative, for your chart shows you can come away with benefits that are worth good money.
Should you get laid off - and I don't even like to raise this possibility but I do so because many companies are cutting costs - with Jupiter in this part of your chart, you should ask for a good severance package. Cancer tends to be a reserved sign, not given to tooting their own horn, but having a solid severance package could come in handy. Ask, even if you think you don't need it. You might not, but then again, isn't it comforting to have?
Other lucrative sources of income include inheritance. Don't be worried - many parents and other relatives give large sums of money while they are alive so that they can have the pleasure of seeing their children buy their first home or go to college. You may get that type of inheritance.
Even if your parent doesn't call it a pre-inheritance, should you find yourself in a tough financial jam, your family might help you financially now. They love you - don't forget that!
It is also possible you may win a scholarship or get your employer to match funds for a set of classes you need to take. You may additionally see another windfall, possibly because you win a cash prize on TV or in a contest. Don't complain that you never win. You have to enter to win, and besides, you have the kind of aspects that could help you now.
You won't have to wait long for news of this extra income because it could come near the "luckiest day of the year" when Jupiter conjoins the Sun on January 23 or 24. Both days will be fortunate for you, as this aspect will peak either very late on the first day, or very early on the second day, depending where in the world you live. No matter - you'll be a money magnet on both days.
On these days you may want to buy a raffle ticket or one or two scratch-off lotto tickets. Be sure the prize is announced on one of these two days. Don't go overboard, because your luck will often show up in unexpected ways.
I had your very same aspect last year, and two days after it arrived, I lost my laptop computer in a taxi in New York City where I live. I always carry it in a small black computer bag, and I was in a taxi just after Christmas, carrying many packages for my Little Mom. She had opened them at my house and I was now delivering the gifts back to her house a few days after Christmas.
I had dropped off her two large shopping bags with her doorman while I stayed in the cab, but I still had a number of things to carry along with my computer. Obviously I do too much multi-tasking!
Because the bag holding my computer was black, when the cab made a sudden stop, my computer bag had gently slipped down to the floor where I didn't see it.
After I got to my destination and paid, I got out of the cab but as I watched it drive away, I suddenly realized I had left the computer in the cab. I was frantic. I did have the cab receipt, thank goodness, but I was not able to reach the cab driver for nearly 24 hours. I was really depressed by then, realizing I would never see my laptop again.
The cab driver told me that after he dropped me off he went into a dangerous neighborhood. My heart sank. I felt even worse when he told me he had taken a very tall, burly man to a very bad part of town in one of the outer boroughs, and said that this passenger had my "luggage" with him when he got out of the cab.
Dear Raymundo, my cab driver who barely spoke English and was from Peru, completely surprised me when he then told me began to argue with the passenger and told him that the luggage that he, the passenger, was taking (a small black computer case with strap) was not his, but rather belonged to "the lady with shopping bags for mother."
I was amazed that Raymundo had remembered I entered the cab with a computer. After all, I had two bulky shopping bags and it was quite dark at 5:00 PM when I had hailed him. How on earth did Raymundo remember that I had a black bag with me? I was behind the bulletproof partition!
And more surprising, how did he have the courage to argue with a huge, burly passenger who was getting out of his cab in a very remote and deserted neighborhood in the dark in a not-great outer borough?
Holding my breath, and very confused, I gently asked, "Dear Raymundo, do you have my computer?" After a tiny pause, his answer in his native accent, "jes" (meaning, yes!), made me jump for joy. Rarely have I been so happy! We met 90 minutes later in front of a CVS drug store, his back lights blinking as he stopped, and both of us hugging on the street as he handed me my computer in perfect condition.
My point in telling you this story is that Jupiter creates miracles. My computer had traveled alone into one of the biggest cities in the world, and it was returned to me unharmed even though it did not have my name on it, thanks to the kindness of a stranger, a dear cab driver who cared enough to see that I got it.
I have to thank the Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York City too who kept calling me to find out if I had reached the driver yet, and who told me in the meantime that the whole department was rooting for me. They told me they were now reading at Astrology Zone after I told them what document was on that computer when I lost it. (I was in the middle of writing your forecast and was half way through Leo.) I gave Raymundo a large cash reward of course, because getting my computer back was a priceless gift. I also wrote a letter about Raymundo to several news stations and to the taxi commission.
You never know how Jupiter will help you. Having Jupiter in your material wealth and possessions sector conjunct the Sun on January 23-24, operative plus or minus four days, will be a blessing for you. Be open to many possibilities, dear Cancer. I have heard other stories of how people received money they never knew they had, say, from a long defunct bank account or through some other way.
As if this were not enough, there is MORE big financial news to come!
In case you don't "get" that you are lucky with money, the universe has planned a really big statement, a solar eclipse on January 26, which will, in the days and weeks that follow, stir up lots of cash-related opportunities. A solar eclipse always opens doors, and this one will bring much luck, because it will fall so very close to Jupiter. Watch the notes and phone calls you receive in the weeks that follow - you will be thrilled! An eclipse can set up a new chapter in the whole six months to come!
The eighth house, so beautifully lit, rules transformations of all kinds, particularly on the physical plane. By that I mean the physical body, so if you should need an operation, you would have a superb chance of having a successful result if you need surgery.
Again, even if you have an against-all-odds situation, you now have reason for hope in 2009. I have seen many examples of amazing turnarounds in health. Choose the best doctor you can find, and if you trust him, follow his advice to the letter. You really have superb aspects for health this year, especially if you need a procedure.
This month's full moon on January 10 will be in your sign, Cancer, at a time when something of critical importance is about to reach culmination. Saturn will send very stabilizing vibes, so what occurs should add to your security. Jupiter plans to partner with that moon too, in wide degree (meaning Jupiter will be a little distant, but still in the neighborhood), so Jupiter will be there to protect you.
The very best aspect this full moon will make will be to Uranus, now sitting in your ninth house of long distant travel. You may spontaneously take a trip, or else hear from someone based abroad (or at a great distance) with wonderful news! Relatives, such as aunts, uncles, or in-laws should also be helpful.
If you were born on July 13, or within five days of that date, you will feel the effects of the full moon most dramatically - and will benefit from it, too!
If you have applied to a top college, go to your mailbox within four days (before and after) of January 10. You may receive the letter you dearly hoped to see! This full moon is a surprising one on many levels, and all the surprises will be ones you like!
In your career, February will be a bigger month, particularly near February 16 or 17. That's the time you would want to start an important new job, or have a major interview or client presentation, or hear back about an application you made earlier. You'd likely get a very high level position, better than your previous job.
While January will be quieter for job advancement, there is one exception. If you are trying to get venture capital, then as said earlier, the time near January 24-31 (into all of February) should be fantastic. If ever you could get your money, it would be in early 2009, specifically in January and February (if it didn't already come in at the end of December 2008.
With Mercury retrograde, be sure any paperwork you show others does not contain errors. You will likely sign papers in February, but this month you can streamline legal paperwork by looking closely at the clauses and changing them to your satisfaction.
With Mercury retrograde from January 11 to February 1, you won't want to take a new job this month. Your job would later change in some dramatic way, and not in a way you would have supposed or would be pleased to see. Be patient and wait until February to take your big job. In the meantime try to get temporary work or a consulting gig if cash flow is a concern.
If you are self-employed, you will get good news next month too, especially if you are working on launching a new venture, say, in the high tech field involving new technology, new software, or a new application.
Humanitarian efforts and charity work should go really well in mid-February, too. If you do social work or fundraising, as two examples, you will be especially favored.
Romantically, as said earlier, many Cancers have just become engaged at the holidays last month, or will in the first few days of January, a magnificent time to do so. Some will wed, but even for those who don't, there will be a joyful quality about your time together, and you'll be in perfect sync.
With so many planets moving to your eighth house, you'll feel very physically demonstrative and affectionate - it's a glorious time to be in love!
If you are in a relationship that you aren't sure about, Mercury's impending retrograde motion will help you put on the brakes and think about what you want to do about your alliance. If you are basically happy but have been stuck on one area of disagreement, Mercury will almost force you to look at it one more time to see if you can come up with a new solution. Good!
Venus will move into fellow water sign Pisces on January 3, a divine place for Venus to be, for Venus will work to make your charms more visible.
If you travel this month, Venus will make sure your trip goes well. (With Mercury in retrograde, however, you must check that you have all you need, including your ID and tickets, that you have all proper addresses and appropriate directions, and that you clearly mark your luggage.)
If you can't go away on a trip, then consider taking a course this month, for classroom settings are where love blooms in January.
Summary
What a month! When Jupiter changes signs, that's headline news, and that's precisely what will happen on January 5. As the planet of good fortune, we all want to know where Jupiter is based in a chart, for it proffers so much luck to come.
In your case, Jupiter will be based in 2009 in your house of "other people's money," which means their money will come to you now and possibly will help you launch a dream, such as to go to college or grad school, to buy a house, or to move across country.
You may get a major loan, mortgage, attractive refinancing plan, an infusion of venture capital, or a scholarship. The possible sources of income will be plentiful, including funds from various government programs. What matters is that it will come, and that you will benefit as a result.
Commissions, licensing fees, bonuses, and other such funds should also be lucky areas of gain. Why, you may even win a large cash prize as a contestant on TV or through a contest on a cell phone, because Jupiter in Aquarius indicates luck though digital forms.
To be sure you notice this new development in your chart, the universe will send an eclipse, January 26, to get the ball rolling. Some sort of money is due you, so make sure the amount is as large as it can be. You will see that the last week of January and most of February will be a stellar time to set deals in place and start getting those checks written to you.
Also working with this generous financial eclipse will be an earlier meeting of the Sun and Jupiter on January 23-24. The proximity of the eclipse with this meeting of the Sun and Jupiter matters, for together your financial benefits will become so much bigger than you would ordinarily see.
This month the money you think about will be solely outside of money you receive as salary. Next month, on the February 9 full moon lunar eclipse, you will be centered on money you earn.
The forming of close, contractual relationships could also be on your mind, and if so, your timing would be ideal. Your best days fall from January 1-4, but thanks to a very powerful, encouraging new moon that arrived last month on December 27, you appear ready to commit, in love or in terms of a business arrangement. Excellent! Sign papers early in the month, and avoid Mercury in retrograde.
Mercury will retrograde from January 11 to February 1, but don't work up too closely to those start and end dates. It's always wise to keep as much space as possible from those dates. If you can sign your partnership in the days January 1-4, that would be ideal.
Romance will be brightest for those already attached, for the closeness and affection you feel should make you feel very adored. Your partner is apparently a gem, and this month, you seem to recognize that truth.
(For some Cancers, it's the business partner - or person you represent or vice versa, the person who represents you - who will be so golden for you now. Make formal arrangements to stay together!
If you are single and hoping to find someone new, travel will be one of your best ways to meet. Can't go? Then think about taking courses at night or on weekends. Taking a seminar or workshop could put you in just the right place at the right time.
This month changes so much, dear Cancer - and finally, you'll be in the right place at the right time to take full advantage!

Luck for getting financing, a windfall, or loan will be extraordinary: January 23-31.
If you need dental or medical surgery, schedule it for next month, after February 4, if possible. If it is an emergency, this month is fine.

Every carrier works a little differently, so here are the instructions for you:

Example: Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it Now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone® Premier™. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application, so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!
