Your life is changing quite dramatically for the better, dear Gemini. Jupiter, planet of happiness, expansion, and good fortune, will now move into Aquarius for the first time since 1997 on January 5. Jupiter will stay in this sign for a year, until January 18, 2010.
Now that Jupiter will be in fellow air sign Aquarius, you will have more support from Jupiter than you've had in a very long time. The difference will soon become deliciously obvious as you go through your New Year - everything will be so much easier for you to achieve because the environment around you will be so much more supportive. You've labored through the trenches, but finally you'll get help from VIPs and influential friends and you'll be able to achieve your aims. In short, you are about to enter a much sweeter, softer phase.
Your health will improve and you'll be able to travel more than you have in years past - possibly overseas (a great idea). If single, you'll even find it a bit easier to navigate the dating scene. If all this sounds too good to be true, keep in mind that Jupiter rules not only good fortune, but miracles, too. Never stop believing!
While a housing, property, or family issue may still press on you, other parts of life will improve so much that you'll find any challenges you have at home easier to face. In fact, with a happier outlook, you'll more readily come up with original solutions. Others around you will be more helpful, too - rather than be a drain, they will offer you ideas, contacts, and opportunities. Now these are changes you'll love!
The main areas that Jupiter will focus on will be the very areas that as a Gemini you are drawn to and excel in: the communication arts. Look into writing, journalism, public speaking and lecturing, editing, proofreading, research, and teaching as areas for expansion, as well as the related fields of advertising, marketing, public relations, and sales. All will glow for you. Gemini is also associated with travel and tourism, so that industry could be good for you as well.
Aquarius is the sign that rules the digital age, so your luck will center on newly invented, high tech forms of communication. Not only will publishing and broadcasting be lucky for you, but so will telecommunications, software development, and code writing, as well as the humanities, social work, and charities. You may work in one of these areas as your main source of income, or you may volunteer in your spare time for a political campaign or to help on a "green" project. The possibilities are broad and all quite exciting. Indeed, you seem to be cast in the role of pathfinder this year and you'll find it all very fresh and interesting.
You may get a lucrative book deal, a regular column or blog on a popular Internet site or prestigious magazine, or an offer to host your very own TV or radio show. You may self-publish, write an e-book, or get involved with on-demand TV programming. If you are already involved with this type of work, you will see your role expand and your future will grow brighter.
Deals that arrive from a person based in a foreign country would be fortunate for you, and could easily yield a terrific new source of income.
You will likely travel far and wide this year too, for Jupiter will encourage you to learn about other cultures and even see more cities in your very own country. Travel is only one manifestation of a larger goal that the universe has for you: to enlarge your perspective. By the time this year is done, you will look back and say that you used to think in terms that were too narrow, and that now you have started to see the world in bigger terms and vivid colors.
If you can't travel because of home and family obligations, then foreign people will come to you with offers. Your work may now be translated into other languages, or you may set up an import-export deal. Your skills for lecturing and in public speaking will be prized, so you may be a frequent guest on TV. Your ability to think on your feet and be persuasive will help you in many ways.
The ninth house, where Jupiter will be based, also rules university study and degrees, another possible area of gain for you. You may get into a top college for an advanced degree, ace a major qualifying exam, or get a gig as an associate professor. No matter what you do once you're there, you'll enjoy the school and the other students and generally feel at home.
Jupiter has a financial connotation too, so if you need financial help to pay for your education, I urge you to look into scholarships and other programs. Even though the market is down and the news has been dismal, you can be the exception to the rule and walk out with a generous scholarship or financial aid program. When it comes to education, your luck will be sterling, so look for it! If you go away to school, you may opt to study overseas and find doing so very broadening.
If you are self-employed, by all means plan an ad campaign and/or a publicity program. February would be an outstanding month to put yourself "out there," so keep that in mind.
Jupiter is now at the very top of your chart, in a part of the chart so special that the ancients called it the "mid-heaven." This is a place of leadership and big thinking and in many ways is a place of reward for the skills you have honed over the years.
The ninth house always requires a bit of preparation - when we go on a trip, we need a passport, some foreign money, reservations in hotels, the proper maps, and so forth. When we go to college, we need to get past entrance exams and the college interview, and we usually have to visit a number of campuses to make our choice. When we get published, we must first present our ideas clearly in a proposal and show why others would be interested in what we have to say. You seem focused and ready to make those preparations and to powerfully persuade others to allow you through the gate. That's why you will be granted access!
The courts will also be helpful. If you have to bring suit against a person or company, 2009 will be a year when the courts will be more inclined to smile on you. No guarantees, but this would more likely be the year that you'd find the verdict fair and that justice was served. If you have to file a patent or trademark, this too would be the time to do so.
To be sure you see this huge trend as it begins to shape up, the universe will send you a very positive, friendly eclipse, also in Aquarius, on January 26. This eclipse will open a door very wide in this very same area that we've been discussing: communication, travel, commerce, pursuits for higher education, the courts, and so forth.
This solar eclipse will fall very close to Jupiter, and also on that day, Mercury, your ruler, will conjoin Venus, a planet not only associated with pleasure, but also with money. One way or another, you seem to benefit financially from all that will be going on in this realm.
If you were born on May 26 or within five days of this date, you will feel the affects of the coming solar eclipse on January 26 the most.
Next month, on February 9, there will be a second, full moon lunar eclipse in Leo, emphasizing many of the same areas of the chart. If you were born on June 1, you will feel that eclipse the most.
On top of all these areas of gain, you may also benefit very soon from the kindness of an aunt or uncle, in-law, or other relative. You may receive a cash gift, or the benefit may be more spiritual, with special advice or an introduction that proves invaluable.
You will likely find that the biggest moments of January will fall on or near the date of that solar eclipse, January 26 (plus or minus one week). However, sometimes an eclipse does not deliver its message immediately but rather one month to the day later, plus or minus four days. For that reason, you need to watch the days surrounding February 26, too.
I would like you to watch two other key dates as well, and these will glitter brightly, too.
Circle the date of January 18, when Mercury, your ruler, will conjoin Jupiter. This should be an outstanding day that will be repeated next month on February 24. Again, all the areas being lit by Jupiter, listed previously, will bring you luck, but on this date, also add special help with home / property / family as likely to bring good news. If you need to save your house, for example, meet with your banker in the days leading up to this date. If you need a new piece of furniture, browse listings. If you want to add a roommate, interview candidates on this day.
If you were born within days of May 23, you will find January 18 an excellent day.
If you were born closer to June 1, then the second date of February 24, when Mercury and Jupiter will meet again, will be more special. Of course, you may have other planets that could bring you good fortune as a result of these two lovely dates. Circle both on your calendar!
While you are holding your pencil and writing down special dates, here is another five-star day for you to note. On January 24, Jupiter will conjoin the Sun, a day I call "the luckiest day of the year." On this day, you could hear news so spectacular that you jump for joy. All the areas I listed in regard to communication, travel, education, and the courts are where you will see your benefits.
Mercury will retrograde from January 11 to February 1, so you will have to proceed slowly all month. It won't be easy to do so, not with so many goodies on tap!
It is not wise to sign contracts or to agree to new ventures during these phases. When you hear the words "Mercury retrograde," it should instantly telegraph to you the notion that changed conditions are due to happen up ahead. If you were driving, you would see a crew set up a yellow blinking light to warn you to drive more slowly and cautiously. Don't commit to anything during this coming Mercury retrograde phase. You will not lose out on any opportunities - in fact, February should bring you even better offers.
Keep some space around Mercury retrograde dates too, on the front and back ends. So many people sign contracts on the day before Mercury retrogrades or on the day after Mercury turns direct, but actually that's the worst time to do so. Mercury acts wild on those "bookend" dates, so you'll want to avoid them.
The month will also have a huge financial emphasis. A crowd of planets in Capricorn will brighten your eighth house of "other people's money" in the first week of January; you may get news of a very large one-time payment due you. It may be news from the courts about money awarded to you or an insurance company payment being approved for you. It may come as news of a scholarship, loan, or mortgage that was approved, or of a large inheritance or prize winning that has your name on it.
You may want to buy a lotto ticket, but don't go crazy. Spend $10 on a charity raffle ticket if you like, or buy a scratch-off lotto ticket. Buy it in January's first five days, while you will still have Jupiter in your eighth house of money. Make sure the "winner" is announced by then. The closer you act to January 1, the better, as the new moon that appeared on December 27 late last month will still be in a strong position to help you.
You will see a culmination of a financial situation on or within three days of the full moon on January 10. That full moon will light your house of earned income and possessions, so you may buy an expensive item or you may pay a large holiday bill.
Even so, you may also receive unexpected cash because Uranus, planet of surprise, will be well angled to that full moon. Expect the best!
In terms of career, praise and a possible breakthrough may occur on January 8 and 9 when the Sun and Uranus will be interacting so beautifully. On January 8, the stronger of the two days, the moon will be in Gemini, a perfect day to have a meeting with a client or to make a presentation to a client you'd like to add to your roster.
Venus will enter your tenth house of professional reputation from January 3 onward, and Venus will see that the buzz about you will be quite upbeat.
Romantically, if you are attached, you will have a bit of an edge this month. Watch the weekend of January 24-25 as your best, with things starting to heat up nicely on Friday, January 23. Why not plan a weekend away for two?
As a runner-up weekend, choose the one that falls a week earlier, January 17-18, for it will prove to be very special as well. Travel increases love and fun, so see if you can take a little trip together.
If you are single, this year you are likely to meet someone, or commit to a partner, who has a very different background from you. Or, you may meet your new sweetheart while traveling, or later decide to live in a foreign country for a while. The whole theme of foreign people and places will be quite strong for you and will grow stronger as you go along. See how this works for you!
Summary:
This will be a very exciting month because at long last, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will be in the perfect position to help you get ahead in several areas of your life. You've not had strong help like this in such a long time, so you'll be pleasantly surprised at how bright life suddenly seems.
Gemini born at the end of May will feel this trend first, but because Jupiter will move so swiftly during the first half of 2009, every Gemini will see benefits between now and June.
The emphasis on distant places is so strong that you may travel quite a bit, or you may find that foreign markets and opportunities abroad are too juicy to pass up. You may see your book translated into another language, or you may be asked to be a contributing editor to a foreign publication or website. Aquarius rules all newly invented forms and usually points to electronic and digital forms. That's a lucky area, so consider that in your planning.
If you have been hoping to go back to college, not only are you likely to get into the institution of your choice, but you are also likely to thoroughly enjoy your college experience once you are there. This is not always the case in life, so thank your lucky stars!
Even romance will benefit from this trend. If you hope to jumpstart a lackluster relationship, a trip taken together should bring you closer and help you reactivate the excitement you may have felt was missing. As the planet of miracles, Jupiter makes all sorts of things possible that we assume are impossible. If money is a concern, have a look at the Internet to find the perfect package for a trip or as a means of financing a dream related to the areas I have outlined. One method should show up after the powerful eclipse of January 26, if not sooner.
Your luckiest day of the year falls on January 23, so you may hear news about travel, an admission to college, or an exam you did well on. You may get a lucrative speaking engagement, give an interview to the press, or hear other good news. This day should shine brilliantly for you!
Another day to put a gold star on should be January 18 when your guardian planet, Mercury, will meet with good fortune Jupiter. Things should most positively go your way then, even in regard to love and romance. Your ability to communicate clearly will be a big plus. Travel will also go well. Add a plus or minus of two days to January 18.
Keep in mind that Mercury will be retrograde from January 11 to February 1, but you will feel the effects of "Mercury gone wild" for a longer period than that. Be cautious and don't commit to anything important until next month, after February 4 or even later. Sometimes we fear losing an opportunity if we wait, but your chart is very clear - if you lose anything, it won't be worth nearly as much as the new opportunity that will come up in February. If you are perfect for this opportunity, it will remain there for you, and your role in it will only become clearer and more defined by next month. (You can act as soon as January's first few days, but it's pushing things. I prefer you wait.)
Although you may be aching to buy something with the Christmas or Hanukkah money you received last month, hold off until next month. It's never wise to spend a lot of money when Mercury is out of phase, and you should never buy an electronic item at this time. Whatever you buy will not bring the pleasure you are anticipating, so be smart and hold off. A newer model may show up, or the present price may be greatly reduced. Whatever the reason, you'll be glad you waited.
Speaking of spending money, it appears you may come into a windfall at the start of the month, in the first week of January. Then, later, the full moon emphasizes money as well, so you may have to pay off a large financial obligation, such as for college tuition, as just one of an endless list of possibilities.
With Venus in your house of career reputation from January 3 for the rest of the month, your stock should be rising in your company or on the job market. Whatever happens on January 8 or 9 should thrill you - see what comes up!

Every carrier works a little differently, so here are the instructions for you:
Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile customers: When you text AZP to 75777, you will receive a text message back with step-by-step instructions on how to download the application.
Example: Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it Now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone® Premier™. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application, so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!

Comcast Cable TV now features me (Susan Miller) on their "On Demand" channel. If you're a Comcast Cable subscriber and already have their On Demand package, you can see me deliver your forecast each week for free.
Simply go to your On Demand channel button (located on your Comcast Cable remote), then go to the category "Cutting Edge." From there you need to go to "The Paranormal Channel." From there look for "Horoscopes" (my forecasts). I am the only astrologer on Comcast, so you will be in the right area. Just click on the signs you want to listen to.
