Leo Horoscope for February 2012

This is a big month because Neptune, the planet of dreams and inspiration, will make a monumental move into your eighth house of other people's money on February 3. Anytime a big planet moves into a new sign, it is always headline news in astrological circles, but this particular planetary move is doubly big. No one alive today has experienced Neptune in Pisces because the last time Neptune visited this sign was between 1847 and 1862. Neptune moves very slowly in our solar system and will stay in your financial sector (eighth house) for fourteen years.

While having the planet of fantasy and imagination in a financial part of the chart is not the easiest place to host Neptune, it does not necessarily have to be a difficult trend. Of all signs, Leo is considered to be one of the most creative signs (along with Pisces), so if you are paid for your ideas and artistic visions, hosting Neptune in this house should bring you quite a bit of business in coming years. The same could be said for you if you work in not-for-profit, charitable, or humanitarian work - you will do well.

The reason that you may have to take precautions with money dealings in future years is that Neptune is a planet known to veil reality, which can be fine if we are talking about an area of life that can take that kind of treatment, but this house rules taxes, inheritances, estates, venture capital, financial aid, scholarships - things that require razor sharp thinking and solid facts!

To counter any possible problems with this trend, one that will last until January 26, 2026, you will need to get all your deals spelled out in writing to prevent confusion. If you plan to marry and have money saved or own property, think about setting up a prenuptial arrangement, as unromantic as that might sound. Find a way to organize your financial paperwork, and take steps to keep key papers in a place safe from fire and water. Be present in all negotiations and meetings so that no one can make decisions without your direct knowledge and involvement. If you are married and your partner handles all the finances, ask questions and be knowledgeable about such things as insurance so that you know about all about the family finances should you ever have to take over the household books in an emergency. Neptune does not act quickly but slowly and gradually, so you will have a little time to ramp up, but the sooner you come up to speed on these matters, the safer you will be in the future.

Now let's turn to your financial prospects, which actually shine brightly in February. Mercury governs your earned income (second house) and will be unusually active during the week of February 13-18. You will have opportunity to make money during that time, so let's have a look at the various days involved.

The first day to watch will be February 13, a day when you will receive mixed messages that will be sent to you from Mercury. On one hand, Mercury will spend time with Neptune, excellent if you want to sell a piece of art (or buy one) or to sell a concept for a new artistic concept. This is not a good link up if you want to sign a contract. Here is where it gets interesting. On the same day, February 13, Mercury will be in perfect, exact angle to Saturn, considered the best of all places for signing contracts. I suggest you take a conservative approach, however, and not sign anything on February 13. However, the link between the arts and Neptune is strong, so you may be able to sell a piece of art you created or own on this day.

A really wonderful, golden day for money-career talks will be February 16 when Jupiter will contact Mercury. This communication between two planets will connect your good work, reputation, and experience directly with your salary and other earned income. What a great day for a performance review, presentation, or salary negotiation. If you live in Asia or Australia, add one day (always), so the day to watch is February 17.

Indeed, on one of these two days, February 16-17, your agent / publicist / manager / business partner / lawyer may stun you when he or she pulls a rabbit out of a hat. News from a business partner or collaborator should be sensational on one of these two days.

The new moon will appear in the same house, your eighth house of other people's money, on February 21 and will encourage you to grow your finances. This is the time to make application for a loan, redo your insurance policies, and apply for venture capital. It's the time to begin a court action, say, if you have not received child support, or to send in a claim to your insurance company. You will have two weeks to do so, as all new moons give you that much time. It's good to know the days just AFTER the new moon arrives will always be strongest.

The new moon will be in Pisces at 3 degrees, in perfect angle to Pluto in your sixth house of work projects, and to Jupiter in Taurus in your house of fame. Wow, as you see, your eighth house of other people's money (bonuses, commissions, bank loans, venture capital, insurance payouts, and so forth) will be linked to your house of work projects (where Pluto is based) and to Jupiter in your house of fame. This particular new moon, then, seems more attached to your work than anything else. All that you have done in your career - possibly over the course of years - will now come together to help you get the money you are hoping to receive. This new moon will be very, very good for you.

If you work in a creative field, either as the artist or as support to artists, there are two days when your imagination and creativity will allow you to generate more money and would be great to schedule a meeting.

The first will come on Sunday, February 19, when the Sun, your ruler, will meet with Neptune, and you will find that your mind is on fire, generating more ideas than you can write down - try to capture them all! Use Friday, February 17, or Monday, February 20 if you won't be seeing anyone who is involved with your creative projects on Sunday. Or set aside quiet time on Sunday to work alone n your project.

In terms of your career, you have a spectacular day to schedule an important meeting, negotiation, or presentation, one that could help you land a breakthrough of epic proportions: Friday, February 24. If you generally work over the weekend or plan to do so over February 25-26 and will see a VIP at the time, then that weekend will shine brightly - that's when Jupiter will meet with the Sun.

Indeed, the period from February 24-26 will be platinum gold, due to a very friendly communication between the Sun and Jupiter, making this weekend your BEST of February. Whenever Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is involved in any talks, that's always good news, but when Jupiter speaks to your ruling star, the Sun, that's even bigger news. That's why this day is worth four gold stars for you!

There will be one more powerful day for you, Tuesday, February 28, perfect for meeting with top level VIPs and a new project, for the Sun, your ruler, will meet with Pluto in Capricorn.

Earth signs will be dominant all month (the ones that are so friendly to one another), so it will be important to keep your ideas within the realm of practicality. Rather than offer up blue-sky ideas, keep your suggestions grounded, dear Leo. You are such a visionary, but this year you will need to be sure to keep things real and within proportion. It is always more fun to show the full sweep of an idea, in its biggest and most panoramic form, so that you can show others as far as your idea can go. Yet the preponderance of earth means the bean counters will have a strong say in how things go, and everyone at the meeting will be dealing with certain limitations. All signs will need to keep this in mind, not just yours, dear Leo, so be smart and keep things tailored to the client's needs and budget.

Now let's turn to matters of romance. Earlier, at the very start of your report, I discussed the important role of Neptune in your joint financial arrangements in coming years. Yet there is more to discuss - the fact that Neptune will not only enter your financial house but LEAVE your partnership sector for the first time since 1998 is important. Neptune will not return to your marriage and partnership commitment house (including business partnerships) in your lifetime.

This could easily signal a big and possibly improved change for your most romantic relationship. While it is possible that you were inspired by your partner, perhaps because this person is very creative or helped people in need (perhaps in a charitable way), there is a possible downside that Neptune may have brought during your time together. You may have had to give up too much for a partner in the past, sacrificing your own needs so that your partner may benefit. You may have done this willingly, or you may have been in a circumstance that dictated this must be.

Or it might have been that your partner has not been entirely honest with you all these years. (By now you would know if this applies to you.) Now, however, on February 3, you will no longer be subject to these types of difficulties in a relationship. You will enjoy the difference - everything will change now and you will find your relationship more even and clearer too. Now let's turn to the specific days of this month that you may want to note.

Single or attached, the month starts out beautifully, with a full moon in Leo, 18 degrees, on February 7, and you will notice a culmination to something dearly important to you within five days of this date. Full moons bring closure and clarity, so after this full moon occurs, you may feel more settled. This may not be a romantic moment for you, but it might be. I say that because full moons in our own sign often bring up plans and matters involving an important relationship, and will also put a spotlight on what you want for yourself.

This full moon will become doubly important if your birthday falls within five days of August 10, as the degrees of this full moon will reach out to you.

The meeting of Venus and Uranus on Thursday, February 9, could bring an exciting first meeting if you are a single Leo. This could happen while you are away a long trip, or while taking classes at a university. Your ninth house will be lit up, so there are other intriguing opportunities to meet someone new. You may have that first meeting while standing in line at the passport bureau, while serving jury duty, or while you are in the green room of a TV station before you go on camera. Both Venus and Uranus planets will be in fire sign Aries, a sign that blends beautifully with yours, so this day could be lucky for love! If your birthday falls within five days of July 24, this meeting of Venus and Uranus on February 9 may be doubly sweet!

Valentine's Day should be romantic fun for you if you are dating seriously. I say this for several reasons. First, the moon on that day will be in Sagittarius, lighting your fifth house of love! This won't be a new or full moon, so it won't be as powerful as one of those, but at least the moon will cooperate and bring an environment conducive for love. That's a good start. Also, in February, the Sun will be moving through your commitment sector, and furthermore, last month, on January 23, you had a new moon in your commitment sector. If you are serious about your partner, you may already have had talks about marriage and may be ready to move ahead on your plan. This could make this Valentine's Day quite special!

If you are already attached, this day for lovers may be sweet for you too. Mercury will be near Neptune, so the words you hear, or the letter, card, or text you receive, could turn out to be quite touching. In so many ways, it looks like a great month for you, one that holds the possibility for love, travel, fun, money, and lots of career success!

Summary

Last year you were supposed to see enormous gains in your career, so what happened, dear Leo? You had a strong start when Jupiter entered Taurus in June, but then things fizzled. Don't worry one bit. Why? The answer is Jupiter went retrograde on August 30, so you didn't have much time to make tracks. In late December, Jupiter went direct and needed a little time to ramp up his speed. Now, all conditions are right for you to gear up for a big career campaign that can bring you victory by late April or early May. You are close, but your aim must be precise and steady. You are in a position to make the victory of a decade, so don't get distracted. Keep working at your goals!

You will enter into a sensational career phase on Friday, February 24, when Jupiter will collaborate with your ruler, the Sun. It will be easy to impress VIPs on your worth at this time and also to agree on a fair (even generous) compensation package. If you regularly work on weekends, then February 25-26 will be your standout days.

The following week, on February 27 and 28, will be a fine time to discuss upcoming projects (perhaps some that you suggest), because at that time Pluto will work with the Sun to get you the kind of assignment that later takes you places.

Part of your determination to make a success of your career may be driven by your high expenses these days. You need more money, but changing jobs just for the sake of making more money may not be the best idea. Your chart is blossoming for career accolades, but the salary offered may temporarily lag behind your new title, but catch up later. It's your decision, so see how you feel.

Your private life may bring some big news too. With the Sun and Mercury lighting your commitment / marriage house, you may be mulling over the idea of accepting or even giving a marriage proposal soon. (If you are not dating, you can use this energy for forming a strong business alliance.) If you are married already, then you may see some interesting developments now in your partner's life, ones that would affect you in the best way. Good news makes both of you happy!

Although Valentine's Day is February 14, you may have your mind made up about an important love relationship by the time the full moon in Leo arrives, February 7. This full moon could become a landmark moment for you, when a desire or plan that is very important to you moves from idea to reality. If anything confused you over the past weeks, clarity will return, and you will be energized by your future, which appears to be shaping up before your eyes.

The fact that Venus is entering fellow fire sign Aries on February 8 is very good news - Venus will be at a perfect angle to help you until March 5. You will see just how exciting it can be having Venus supporting you on February 9 when you may take a spontaneous journey, out of the blue. Go! This one would bring all sorts of fun, especially if you are a July-born Leo.

Living arrangements will need to be addressed by May, no later. Saturn is currently edging closer to your home sector. Once Saturn enters in October, you won't find as many options to improve your living space as you do now. Keep an eye out for interesting spaces now. If you have to buy or sell a house, your best price will occur in late April or early May, prior to May 15, no later.

Any kind of lifestyle change you may be considering may be causing you to spend quite a bit of money, including such examples as a move to a new home, a return to the university, a marriage, the arrival of a baby, or the start of your own business. The eighth house covers funding from loans, mortgages, financial aid, and scholarships, to income from commissions, bonuses, prize winnings inheritance, child support, court settlements, and other such funds. This month a new moon will appear in this money-oriented house of other people's money on February 21, so discussions about funding will be activated.

You might make money from an artistic interpretation or venture, which would be an excellent way to use the energy of this new moon. No matter what you plan to do, be sure you get a solid idea of your present and future financial picture before you commit to any loans. With Neptune now in this house for the coming 14 years, parts of your financial picture may be obscured. The move of Neptune out of your relationship house will help you see your partner more accurately, and also improve the way you relate to your closest relationship - always good news!

Romance is best: February 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 (electric), 15, 16, 23, 24, and 25.

Career matters will bring thrilling news February 24-25 and 27-28. The Sun will be involved with those days, and the Sun is your guardian star. These days are spectacular for you!

Travel should be a fun option all month, but particularly on or near February 9.

Your agent / manager / lawyer or business partner is worth his/her weight in gold on February 15 and 16.

You may give or accept a marriage proposal this month. (After all, tradition says in a leap year, roles are reversed! Ask, if you are not asked!)

The full moon will be in Leo February 7, and will affect you for four days plus or minus. Something of vital importance is reaching critical mass.

Mars in Virgo has increased your spending, possibly because you are planning a major lifestyle change, such as a return to college, a residential move, or a new baby, as some examples.

Your financial picture will brighten considerably once the new moon of February 21 arrives - watch the two weeks that follow for your best chance to take actions to improve your bottom line.

Why My Book Is Late

All year I was listening hard to all that you asked me on Twitter and Facebook. I realized how valiantly you were all coping with the challenges that a difficult world economy had wrought, and how dearly you needed to know which areas of your life would be bring you the greatest progress and happiness.

I had a manuscript almost ready, but thinking about your words, I felt I had to add much more material to it. What you asked me and what you said on my social networking pages kept echoing in my mind. So in November, I announced to my team I was lengthening the book dramatically. I was adding chapters and doubling each sign's chapter from what I had already written, which are now almost four times as long as my regular Astrology Zone forecasts. Only you can be the judge of what I have done, but I feel this book, still in progress, is the best book I have ever written. It would be easier if I didn't have to stop to write 40,000 words for Astrology Zone each month, but of course, I would always do that!

I set out to create a book that would help you every day of the year. Why, I asked myself, write a good book when I could stretch and push myself to create a great one for you. By now you know I am a perfectionist. My revamped book is the very best I have ever done. It is not finished yet, but I am working every day around the clock on it. It will be wrapped in joy and happiness and it will be of value to you. I have no idea when it will be done, but I know there is great urgency. I am working every minute on it.

You asked about digital versions. My book WILL be available on all versions of Kindle, Nook, and iPad. Apple has a long waiting process for publishers posting a manuscript, so the other two digital versions, on Nook and Kindle, will appear before the iPad.

In the meantime, please order my calendar, The Year Ahead 2012, which is ready. I carefully wrote in each important day, and all the explanations are in easy-to-understand English. I do not use glyphs or astrological language in my calendar; everything is explained in a crystal clear way for a layman. I know you just want to know what is coming and how to plan for it!

To create my book and calendar, and to prepare for my talks, I memorized 312 charts (13 lunar months times 12 signs, times two lunations each month: a new moon and a full moon). I started this in April. I memorize all the aspects because sometimes something happening in one part of the sky will influence an aspect happening in another part of the sky - no aspect can be taken alone, by itself. For example, last year, on what was to be the luckiest day of the year, April 6 (Jupiter conjunct the Sun), we also had Saturn opposed to the Sun on the same day, completely washing out the happiness of the luckiest day of the year. I didn't even discuss it in my book - how could I? You see how I have to be vigilant to all parts of the sky for you - you are depending on me to do my homework thoroughly.

Many of you know my mother was extremely ill with pneumonia this summer and in intensive care and then in a nursing home for physical therapy for four weeks. My sister and I were at her side every day to help bring her back to her former strong health by showing her love and attentiveness to all her medical matters, and when she could eat, we brought homemade meals. Little Mom is well now. She is home, and doctors, who were ready to give up on her, cannot get over the remarkable recovery she has made.

I don't regret one minute the time I gave her to get her well again, even though it did take time away from my writing. She has no one but my sister and I to depend upon - together we worked as a team to get Little Mom well. This year the holidays were especially poignant, as we watched her blue eyes sparkle with delight in being with her four grandchildren, who had gathered around her at home to give her love, presents, and kisses.

Discover your rising sign, the most important element to learn!

If you don't know your rising sign, you won't get quite as much out of my monthly forecasts on Astrology Zone or my daily forecasts on cell phones (or delivered to your email box daily by Daily Astrology Zone). To have your chart done, you would need to know your precise time of birth, to the minute. If you do know it, then you would be wise to have your natal chart done. Once you do, you can memorize your rising sign, for it will never change. This explains why all Aries are not alike, or all Gemini - we are all a beautiful, rich combination of the rising sign and Sun sign, as well as a tapestry of the other planets. On the day you were born, the pattern in the sky will never be repeated in time or space - you are truly unique. What a magical piece of information!

Your natal chart will never change - it stays the same for life! You need only do your natal chart once and never again. Once you do have your chart, you will get more insight into your innate gifts and personality strengths.
