1. My TV show is back on Comcast as of September 3, to be posted at some point that day from now on! It will be monthly rather than weekly, but each segment will be a longer forecast, five minutes! If you are one of the 16 million subscribers of Comcast and have a digital package, you can see my TV show for free on Video on Demand. It has already started September 1!
2. I Tweet every day about things you'd like to know! Even if you do not have a Twitter account (it's free), you can still read my tweets. Go to @Astrologyzone. I am also linked to Facebook as Astrologyzone. This month, on Thurs. Sept. 23, I will have a "Come As You Are Party" in NYC and will Tweet the mystery location earlier that week, and at that time, you can re-tweet to friends to meet them there. Come!
Libra Horoscope for September 2010
By Susan Miller
This is one of those months where planets will be sending mixed messages and you'll have to keep your priorities in mind to keep everything on track. Many planets are nestled in your twelfth house of privacy and preparation, so before you get to birthday time in the third week, you will be able to catch your breath, rest, and recharge before diving into your work and the busy coming social scene.
Mars is currently still in Libra, a trend that started July 29 and will continue until September 14. Usually, having Mars in your sign is a signal to push through obstacles and assertively work on goals that are dear to you. This time, however, you'd be wise to wait for the new moon in Libra, due next month on October 7.
Mercury is will continue to be retrograde until September 12, so until then, events and communications will be cloaked in confusion and the environment will be one of smoke and mirrors. The new moon next month on October 7 will be your annual birthday gift that will put your interests front and center. You and I will talk about that new moon in Libra more next month, but suffice to know, it will come with considerable clout, so you really should put off launching important endeavors until then.
In the meantime, the new moon in Virgo will help you lay the groundwork for the year to come. It's a great time to plan and reflect on all that you hope to happen at the year ahead.
So that you have the energy and stamina to make those dreams a reality, it's also the perfect time see about medical appointments, to schedule dental and medical exams, and to also talk to a professional if you have been troubled with any fears or habits you'd like to end. Therapists are also helpful if you have a goal you'd like to reach but have been stymied in grasping it no matter how hard you've tried.
I have a friend I will call Steve who used to work in a high level capacity for a very famous photographer - so famous that this photographer's work hung in museums all over the world. Steve was treated kindly and fairly when in his employ and made very good money. That was the catch-22, however, in that my friend felt the perfect conditions, generous pay, and appreciation for work well done had become golden handcuffs that limited his future career movements. Steve was afraid to leave his job ("No one actually would leave this wildly famous person," he explained), even though Steve longed to do so that he could set up his own company and work for a variety of clients. Having children and a wife, he wanted to be careful in his moves, but he could not help but feeling stuck.
My friend decided to see a therapist who specialized in business and career questions. This psychiatrist helped my friend find the courage to break free of his position and establish himself in his own business. The results were incredibly successful, but it was so because Steve planned everything so meticulously. My friend finally started his own studio while he was still young enough to establish his name and enjoy the fruits of his labors, this time for himself - not for others. Even though he felt honored to work for such a famous artist, he wanted to sing his own song, not the song of another. If you feel the same way, it's never too late to find out how high you can fly.
This would be the right month to think about these kinds of questions, dear Libra, because the recent eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn have been urging you to update your self-image, your professional status, and your lifestyle, including where and how you live. For now, just think and talk to others about your ideas. No need to act yet, for as said, it would be really better for you to get your ducks in a row so you can act next month.
Your outlook these days seems more serious and your actions more deliberate than they have been in prior years. You want to make plans that stand the test of time, for suddenly time seems to count more to you than it ever has before. This is Saturn's signature, and so you have the capacity to be very productive now and take on something completely new. It really doesn't matter how old you are - Saturn will help you prepare a firm new foundation for the future. When Saturn comes knocking in your sign (as you have now), you get to choose what you'd like to tackle next.
Just so you know, when Saturn opposes the Sun, a trend that the Aries among us are starting to experience now, you don't get to choose what challenges you are given. Saturn just tosses a hard situation to you to find out how you will handle the new conditions. With Saturn conjunct the Sun as you have now, you DO get to choose the new mountain you decide to climb. You won't have Saturn opposition the Sun for 14 more years, so you needn't worry about that now. By the time that comes, you'll be ready. For now, you will choose your new challenges and likely do very well in stepping up to meet them.
That doesn't mean that life is always easy, but if you keep the prize in mind, you will be able to ride over any rough spots. You are working now to enjoy the rewards that will come later, in two years.
Young Elizabeth, about to be 20 this month, is a September-born Libra and felt Saturn's presence in Libra when it first came by last year in October 2009 through April 7, 2010. Saturn moved back into Virgo, but returned to Libra on July 21 and will remain there for two more years until October 2012. All the September-born Libras are feeling Saturn's direct rays now, and are in the process of adjusting to new conditions.
Last September Elizabeth started college as a freshman in a major college, having graduated from an elegant private school in New York. Even though she was well prepared, Elizabeth wasn't sure she liked her college, her courses, the city, or her roommate. Nothing seemed right and for months her discontent grew. She came to me, wondering if she should apply to another college as a transfer student. I said no. Doing so would only complicate things further, with no guarantee that she would be any happier.
With Saturn on her Sun she would find ANY adjustment hard, and she would simply be switching one set of conditions for another. I felt her one and only problem was an incompatible roommate and when I offered that suggestion, Elizabeth agreed this roommate was a major source of frustration. Her college was willing to make a switch by spring semester, and Elizabeth stayed in her present school, far happier than she ever thought possible. When you are faced with completely new conditions, it takes a bit of time to adjust, so allow the process to take hold and try not to make huge changes all at once if you are feeling overwhelmed.
I tell you this because sometimes when Saturn is on your Sun you have what I call a "bleed effect" where one problem seems to bleed into other areas, making you assume everything is wrong when that's not true. Until you identify the real cause of your unhappiness, you won't get relief. The college was right for Elizabeth, as was the city and the courses she had signed up for. Once she got a new roommate, life brightened on every level.
Don't let one element in your life make you so unhappy that you become determined to turn your life inside out. It might be tempting to do that, but tossing the baby out with the bathwater won't bring you happiness. In this case, talking the problem out helped Elizabeth think about things in a clearer way. I was glad I could help her, but actually Elizabeth could have shared her feelings with any warm, interested, and experienced person to help her sort out her options.
If changing roommates didn't work, then my plan was to eliminate one possibly troublesome element at a time, in a systematic way, starting with the ones easiest to change. I never worry about elements we can't change, because, well, those are fixed. That sounds obvious, but many of my friends moan over things they have no control over - that's a waste of time and energy!
Your most serious, thoughtful, but possibly most difficult day this month is likely to be September 30, when Saturn will conjoin the Sun in Libra. Make sure you enter this time of the month well rested, because if you are tired, you are likely to make mountains from molehills. It might be a day when you have a difference of opinion with a friend or feel let down by a friend, or a day when an authority figure criticizes you. Take things with a light touch and try not to take things too much to heart on September 30.
If you make an agreement on this day, it will be etched in stone forever, so be sure you like the deal on the table. Saturn is the planet of longevity and will anchor anything it touches. It may come in handy to know this!
While I am on the subject of difficult days coming up, I might as well mention another day, September 21, when Uranus will oppose the Sun. Your health or vitality could suffer on this day, so rest up and protect your teeth and bones. You may also feel tense or overly stressed on this day. You may have computer problems on this day, or a co-worker or underling might become unpredictable or volatile, acting in ways that raise your eyebrows. Try to get through this day as best you can.
You will have sparkling days, too, including my favorite, September 18, when Jupiter and Uranus will conjoin in your sixth house of work. If ever there were a day that symbolized hope and happiness, this is the day! On September 17 or 18, you may pick up a coveted, well-paying assignment or hear that you brought in lucrative new business. If you were praying for a side job that you could do part time, this would be the day you'd hit pay dirt.
The sixth house rules projects and side jobs, not so much changes in industry status. For that you may need to wait until January when you will have aspects powerful enough to change your professional life. In the meantime, you can use this nice energy to pick up an assignment that will bring in more income. (Note: Check the forecast for your rising sign too to get the whole picture. You will need a chart done, and to do that, you will need your time of birth. Go to www.MyPersonalHoroscope.com, my other site, for more information.)
In terms of finances, your expenses will rise once Mars enters Scorpio, from September 14 to October 28. Happily you will have Venus traveling close to Mars, an indication of some prosperity. Look for ways to increase your income, if only by getting overtime work, by taking side jobs, or developing new business if self-employed.
If you have been concerned about a housing, property, or family situation, Pluto's turn direct on September 14 should greatly improve your chances of settling things from now on. More news will come in December and at the eclipse January 4. Keep your antenna up.
The lovely aspects of September 18 could help you find the perfect person to work with you at home (such as a nanny, gardener, or housekeeper) or at work as an intern, department head, or other position. If you are in hiring mode, by all means interview candidates on the two days leading to September 18. (September 18 is a Saturday, but you can use the gifts of this aspect a little earlier.)
September 18 is also a day when you might find the ideal pet for your family, quite by coincidence. The sixth house rules many things, among them, small domestic animals, and Jupiter rules happiness, as well as gifts. A friend or neighbor may offer you a puppy or kitten, and you might just accept, or you may go to the animal shelter, just for a look, and find the right little creature that you find you love too much to leave there.
Romantically, you have a lot going for you. Venus will be in Libra until September 8, and because Mars in Libra is traveling close to Venus, you will love this first week and doubly so if you are born late in the sign, say, from October 17 to 23.
Two of my favorite days for you will be September 4 and later, September 9. On September 4 Venus, your ruler, will send a missive to Neptune, a very glamorous vibration, known for moonlight and magic. On September 9, Mars in late degrees of Libra will send a lovely missive to Neptune. Perfect!
Later, the full moon, September 23, will light your seventh house of partnership and marriage, crystallizing an important relationship question, possibly with your spouse, steady romantic partner, or business partner, or collaborator. This full moon will fall at 0 degrees Aries and light very close to Jupiter and Uranus, indicating that someone close is likely to bring you surprisingly good news. You may suddenly get engaged or married, or hear other big news to celebrate that involves the two of you.
Pluto will be in hard angle to this full moon, so a housing problem may come up, one that you may have to figure out quickly. Full moons don't allow things to languish - you'll have to address this issue almost the minute it comes up and move foreword.
If your birthday falls within four days of September 23, you will feel the effects of this full moon quite strongly in terms of a close relationship. Something is coming to critical mass, and it may be time to make a life altering decision. How will things go? That depends on you!
Your most romantic days include September 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 18, and the wild card full moon September 23 (plus four days) IF your relationship is solid.
Summary
This month has a lot of action, with plenty of ups and downs, but each experience will bring you flashes of insight. At first the planets will be friendly and encouraging, but later they'll become a little more belligerent. Still, even when cranky, the planets will have method in their madness, for those clashing planets will free you from outworn situations so that you can pursue greener pastures.
As September opens, you will be in a meditative mood. Mercury will be retrograde until September 12, so until then, it would be best to finish up current projects. You'll be starting a new cycle soon, so clear the decks so that you can entertain new projects and offers that will show up soon.
Saturn is now in Libra and creating in you a yen for roots and a more settled life situation. Increasingly, you will start to act in a more purposeful, productive way. Rather than live by the seat of your pants, Saturn will encourage you to create a deeper foundation on which to build a larger structure.
Saturn has also made you more cognizant of the passage of time, so you will act in a way that will allow you to make your time count for something bigger than you have in your life now. While you may have to let go of past situations to create the greater stability you crave, it will be worth the risk. What lies ahead represents a more evolved, sophisticated lifestyle - take the leap. You are ready.
Romantically, there could be truly inspired moments in store. September 4, with its heavenly interaction between Venus and Neptune, and September 9, with Mars beaming Neptune, will be outstanding days for romance.
If you have been dating seriously, or if you are already attached, the full moon September 23 will be a powerful moment when you either make a promise to each other or that allows you to announce a key decision about your future together. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will be close to that full moon, so the moment should be a happy one. If you are not dating you might use this full moon for forging a serious business alliance.
The only fly in the oatmeal at this full moon September 23 may be concern about a housing situation or concern for a parent or other family member. Be ready to bring assistance if necessary.
At work news about an assignment should be excellent on September 23 - it would be a great day to pitch new business, have an interview, or present an artistic idea. You'll be perceived as visionary and hailed as a rock star.
Yet this month is full of ups and downs. A jarring event that comes sooner, on September 21, could send a project off the rails. At the same time, a relationship with a co-worker might boil over. Get enough rest, for this day could be quite draining. Health matters will also become a concern, so you will want to take good care of yourself all month before this date comes up.
The need to jealously guard your health will again come up on September 30 when Saturn will conjoin the Sun. You'll be working hard and may not notice if you are pushing beyond your limits. A lot will be expected of you. On or just after this day, you may have to make a decision that will affect your long-range future. You are ready to do so - proceed with confidence.
Dates to Note:
Give up a bad habit on the new moon September 8 (plus two weeks).
Mercury will be retrograde from September 12, so take things slow in the first half for best luck.
Work projects will pick up from September 9. This is great news if you are self-employed or in sales, but even if you are not, you are likely to get all the plum jobs.
A work project could go haywire on September 21, or you may have electrical or computer problems on this day.
Try not to tangle with a co-worker on September 24. This person will want to win, at all costs.
A relationship will capture all your attention on the full moon, September 23, you could get engaged or married, or form an important business alliance. Or, if things have not been good at all, you may finalize plans to break up, so that you can be free to date others in time.
Mars will leave Libra on September 14, so from then on, you'll be dealing with financial matters, and your costs could rise temporarily through October 28.
Protect your health on a day you will be dragging your feathers, September 30.
Your most romantic days include September 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 18 and the wild card full moon September 23 (plus four days) IF your relationship is solid.
