This will be a solid month and one that should make you very optimistic about your New Year. You appear to be mulling over some rather large questions concerning your living quarters and your next big career move. On both counts, your timing will be excellent if you sort out your options in January but patiently wait to act in February. With that plan, luck will be on your side in a very big way, and you'll see how well the year proceeds!
As you begin the month, there is some indication that you may be traveling. This is a trend that started last month, so it appears that you've been in perpetual motion ever since the holiday season began. Last month you seem to have been living out of a suitcase and enjoying yourself. You were smart to travel then, while you could, because in just a month or two you won't find it as easy to slip away. You still can get away in January, so if you have the yen to go to a new setting, do so straightaway.
As soon as you get back to the office, your BlackBerry will buzz its way across your desk and emails will overflow in your email box. You'll need all your energy to keep up. If you have urgent business, focus on getting things done during the first few days of January, because very soon after that, you will start to notice an annoying slowdown. People will be harder to reach, and if you do reach them, they'll become indecisive. The reason for this is easy - Mercury will go retrograde on January 1. You and I will discuss this in a moment.
More travel seems to come up for you at the full moon January 10, and this time it appears you might be on your way to a foreign country. This may translate into long flight across the Pacific, or a tiny flight across the border. Either way, you it looks like you'll be heading to a new setting within four days of this date. That full moon will send a lovely beam to Uranus, so you may just pick up and go very spontaneously. This will be a full moon, so you won't be away long - it would be completed by January 13 or 14 at the latest.
If you want to go for a longer period, say, a week, then leave earlier. For example, you may want to leave January 2 or 3, and return home by January 11. I like that timetable - see if it works for you.
As a good rule of thumb, you would always want to return from a trip before the full moon completely wanes. Your energy will fade as the fullness of the moon goes down, so you will not enjoy your travels much as you would at the start of your trip. Whenever you travel, always try to finish your journey on the full moon or three days after at the most for best results.
As I mentioned, Mercury will begin to retrograde from January 11 and remain so until February 1, a time you will see a definite slowdown to activities. You were busy over the holidays, so you may welcome the leisurely pace that Mercury will bring. You'll get a chance to exhale and reorganize yourself while the world begins to settle down to a crawl.
You may be asked to deal with a few legal issues this month or be asked to sign papers. If so, study the clauses and build a strategy with your lawyer. Decide on what needs to be done, but take your time. When Mercury retrogrades, you can be sure that the wind will soon change direction and the criteria you are using to make decisions will soon change and be less important as new priorities replace the old ones.
It would not be wise to make any firm decisions about a new venture during Mercury out of phase. The tricky part about Mercury retrograde is that you could easily be lulled into thinking everything is normal and that it's fine to move forward. Alas, it decidedly is not. Instead, it is a good time to look back on past decisions and projects, and to revisit, reassess, and rethink your assumptions. New information that will emerge in weeks ahead could make you regret making a certain decision now. Wait and you will be happy you did.
On top of the confusing situation that Mercury will bring, a solar eclipse is due this month, so trust that there will be big shifts taking place around you. Until that eclipse has spoken - along with the second one that is due February 9 - you won't know which end is up. I know you are action oriented, but be patient, dear Scorpio.
Your home life is about to become a main focus of your attention and an enormous source of pride and happiness. You will see this to be true almost immediately from the moment Jupiter enters Aquarius and your fourth house of home and family on January 5, to stay for a full year.
Jupiter is the planet of good fortune, and he expands everything he touches. Now that Jupiter will be visiting your home sector, you may start to think about moving to new quarters. If so, you will be moving at a simply fantastic time. Jupiter has not been in your home and family sector since 1997, so this trend is brand new. You will notice it in 2009, but particularly so in February! Jupiter is the planet of miracles, so you may get a super deal, too.
If you are searching for a new apartment or house, accept nothing but the largest, most beautiful sunny space you can find. You've waited twelve years for this opportunity, so don't blow your luck on something you don't really like. You can insist on the best, even in tight real estate markets. You won't be ready to act until February, so you have lots of time to look. (With Mercury retrograding in your home sector in January, you should hold back anyway.)
If you are trying to sell a house, listen to your broker's advice and be the one to make the final decision. If you are married, for example, don't let your partner choose the price or do the negotiating - you do it. The only exception would be if your partner is a Scorpio, too. This year, 2009, Scorpio will have the magic touch with all sorts of real estate decisions and transactions. Remember, plan this month but act next month.
If you work in the real estate or home-related financial markets, or in decorating or architecture, you should do really well this year! Actually, this is the one area that will glow brilliantly!
If you have been concerned about the health or welfare of a parent, Jupiter's entry into your home sector should be very good news. You can expect that your parent will show an upturn in health, and if you have been looking for options for a medical diagnosis or physical therapy, or to hire a helper for your mother or father, you should find good choices now.
In order for a new trend to take hold in a chart, you need more than one planet to help out. Remarkably, you will have a whole crowd of happy little planets jumping up and down in your home and property house.
Your first sign that something good is about to happen will be on the monumental meeting of the Sun and Jupiter, an annual event that I call the "luckiest day of the year." These two will meet in your home sector over the two days, January 23-24. Put a star on both!
If you need a new place to live, or want to meet with a contractor to redo your kitchen or bath, this is your year to do it. Get estimates on your luckiest days of the year. You may also find a new piece of furniture or other beautiful things for your home, possibly on sale. Jupiter brings luck, so expect to find bargains. Careful, though - no buying of electronics or very expensive things while Mercury is retrograde. Your item just won't deliver the pleasure you expect from it. You can browse, but plan to shop for those in February.
You can also expect to see luck with your career at about the same time that the Sun and Jupiter meet over January 23-24. The Sun rules your solar tenth house of career status and promotion, so you should expect to receive amazing favor from an authority figure.
Your very best career day of the month - and possibly of the New Year - will be Friday, January 23, but you will also feel excitement one day before on Thursday, January 22. Next month you will have a lunar eclipse on February 9, so you may see a huge professional development then, or within several days of that date. A lot appears to be going in your career, but all of the changes will work in your favor. Have faith!
Your focus will return to your home or property-related situation at the solar eclipse January 26 and in the weeks to follow. An eclipse is always a dramatic event in a chart - even if you had said to yourself, "I will decide about whether to sign my lease later in the year," that time schedule will go out the window now. Perhaps exciting career developments will cause you to rethink your home situation almost immediately. You may even move across country, for eclipses are very powerful.
Your parents are also covered by the fourth house that is so lit up, so one parent, either your mother or father, may be very helpful to you now. If you need family support, ask for it. Your family loves you dearly, and it's showing up in your chart. If you need help, don't be shy about speaking up.
This month's solar eclipse on January 26 will be an unusually friendly one. Jupiter will glide close to the new moon and Sun, so if you search for home or property options, something special should surface.
You are a fixed sign, so massive changes on the home front, or anywhere else in your life, are generally not ones you look upon with enthusiasm. Now, however, the time may be so right to act that you do despite your hesitation - and within weeks become almost giddy with the prospects of your new living situation.
There is always the chance that you would stay home and simply fix your place up. Repairs would go exceptionally well in January, for Mercury retrograde in your home sector will help you get things done that have languished on your list. Next month you can go shopping for a beautiful new piece for one of your rooms, or decide to paint one or more rooms. Sometimes a few new accessories are all you need to make a room seem brand new.
If you need to sell your house, let buyers look, but accept bids only in February for a smooth experience that's hassle free. That would not be quite the case in January with Mercury retrograde. If you need to buy furniture or any electronics, the same rule holds - browse and decide what you need now, but actually buy in February. If you paid for furniture last month, and it is being readied for delivery, ask for a February delivery so it is not damaged in transport.
Romantically, if you are attached, you may be contemplating moving in with your lover. If you hope for marriage, that may not be a good idea. If you have no plans to marry because you have been married before, then it may be fine to do.
Still, Scorpio is a very independent sign, so ending your own living situation is likely to eventually cause you some anxiety, and with Mercury retrograde, you may not have given this enough thought. Uranus in your house of true love can make you impulsive. When it comes to love and living together, the picture is confused, so it would be better to wait.
Generally, love should be bright this month. Venus will travel in Pisces, in your fifth house of true love - great news, for Venus' job is to make your charms very visible. Venus has not been in this area of your chart for a year, so this is news, and Venus will stay until early February. If you want, you can think about changing your appearance, with great results.
Another terrific weekend will actually start on Saturday, January 10, when love may follow you like a magnet. Uranus will be in a beautiful angle to the Sun, so your trip may happen spontaneously. If taken for fun and love, you should be really pleased! This will be a full moon in Cancer, so your feelings will be heightened in the best way.
On January 22, Venus will conjoin Uranus, a truly glorious day if you are single and looking for love, for this day could bring an unexpected, chance meeting with someone very intriguing. Both Venus and Uranus will be in Pisces and will meet in your house of true love. You could not ask for anything more! That day is special for another reason, for Mars, your ruler, will also be in contact with surprise-a-minute Uranus. Gee, dear Scorpio - this is a dazzling day for so many reasons. If you want to travel over this weekend, it may be a superb idea.
Home will be a happy place for you this month, so you might want to give a little party for friends over January 24-25. With Venus in a sexy angle to Mars, it should be a hit!
Romantic evenings: January 1-2, 9-11 (for travel), 13, 18-19, 22 (four stars), 23-25 (home related), and 28-29.
Summary
This month begins a whole new trend, one that will bring you enormous luck and happiness in regard to home, real estate, and family matters. No matter what changes you've been musing about making, this month you will begin to see that your dreams are within your grasp and that very soon they can become a reality. This all will begin because of the arrival of Jupiter, planet of good fortune, into your fourth house of home on January 5. Jupiter will stay a full year, so you are in for quite a wonderful ride.
Your luckiest day of the year will bring the Sun and Jupiter together in your same house of home, and because Jupiter is the planet of outstanding luck, you may find a bargain or hit on a stroke of luck you had not anticipated on your special day.
This year, that luckiest day will peak in the wee hours of the morning on January 24, so that means January 23 will actually be the more fortunate of the two days. You always want planetary energy to be building to a crescendo rather than see it peak early in the day if you want to enjoy best luck.
Just after your luckiest day of the year will come a very brilliant and helpful solar eclipse on January 26. If you have been thinking of making changes at home "someday," your timetable will move up dramatically - almost instantly! Eclipses are known to give you a reason to act, and it could be an impending career development that brings about your sudden decisions.
Your career should bring outstanding "I want to dance on the tables" news on January 22 or 23. Look your best on those days, as a VIP may want to see you and talk with you about a plum position with plenty of responsibility and authority. This is the kind of job you've been dreaming about getting, and it may suddenly be offered to you now, or it might next month. One way or another, a special position appears to be in the wind!
Travel will be possible all month, so think about getting away if you have a little bout of winter blues. With so much about to happen in your home and or career, you won't find it easy to go away later. Besides, fun and love will go together like salt and pepper this month!
One superb time to go away would be during the first week of January or near the full moon in your travel sector, January 10. It appears you may go to a foreign country where you could really relax and enjoy completely different surroundings. That sounds wonderful!
As said, romance seems to flourish on your travels, especially on or near January 9 to 11, but if you can't get away, you can still enjoy this trend by simply traveling around your neighborhood.
You seem to be very lucky in love this month, and with Venus glittering in your true love sector, you will stand out from the crowd. If you like, you can see about improving your appearance now, while Venus will be showering you with her gifts.
January 22 could be your best romantic day of the month, when Venus will conjoin Uranus - surprises will abound! If you are single, this is your day to be out and about! Are you attached? Take your partner out and plan the whole evening - it will wind up just as you had hoped!

Publishing and broadcasting ventures lead to a surprising breakthrough, also at the full moon, January 10.
You may be asked to sign a contact, but don't. Wait until February to do so.
Expect a dazzling development in a home matter: January 23-24 plus or minus four days.
Even bigger home, property, and family related news would come up after the solar eclipse: January 26. Any kind of changes to your home situation would make you happy, from small changes to large ones.

Every carrier works a little differently, so here are the instructions for you:

Example: Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it Now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone® Premier™. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application, so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!
