Scorpio Horoscope for December 2008

This should be a fun month, filled with reasons to travel, to shop, to see lots of friends, and to fully experience the joy of the season. In years past you have had to concentrate so much on your work that your career may have cut into time to enjoy the holidays. This year seems different, and for that you'll be very happy indeed.
The month takes off with a truly sterling aspect, for Venus will be in perfect alignment with Jupiter on December 1. This represents a once-a-year meeting of two highly benefic planets, so you will likely enjoy the dazzling spirit filtering the air. December 1 is a day worth planning something special to do - talks and actions should lead you in precisely the direction you had hoped. It's also a fine day for a trip for business or personal reasons.
With Mars - your guardian planet and also planet of energy - now touring your house of personal resources and possessions, you will feel generous and jovial. No doubt, you'll want to spend freely. Even if you are worried about the recent gyrations of the stock market, you seem to have solid confidence in your future and you want to spend for gifts to make friends and family happy for the holiday. Be careful, however. This month is not quite like most, and the one area you will be most vulnerable is in terms of your finances.
Because your spending will be high throughout December, you might want to decide early on how much you can comfortably afford so that you can avoid any untoward surprises later. The holidays are always hard on the bank account - for everybody - and it is easy to spend more than we should. This month you seem to have a harder time than usual holding the line. This may be because one or two unexpected expected expenses will come up, or because you will see the perfect gift to give a friend or relative, and you'll snap it up. These things do happen.
To keep yourself sane, you may want to have a little emergency money set aside for such instances, should you need it. Scorpio is a very savvy sign when it comes to handing money, so I am not too concerned about how you will fare. I just want you to know that until December 27, spending balances will be up.
I need to tell you about a very difficult full moon that's due December 12. It is not easy to deliver this kind of news, but I do so in the hopes that you will be able to plan so you won't feel broadsided. While Mars will be encouraging you to spend more, the full moon will ask you to suddenly pay the piper. The full moon will occur in your house of other people's money, which in everyday terms governs the house of credit and loans - money you owe others. It also rules commissions, royalties, venture capital, pensions, inheritances, child support, division of property in a divorce, a mortgage or refinancing plans, and although I would rather not even say the word, bankruptcy. Let's stay positive.
Perhaps you feel you know what might come up. Whatever it is, it appears that you will be writing a big, unexpected check or that you will get news of a decision that represents a loss or funds you expected but find you are not going to receive. If you have to write a check, with the full moon and Mars in hard angle to Uranus, it looks like what comes up will come out of left field, with no advance preparation.
Pluto will be active, so someone is likely to be very insistent that you pay, and this person will not be flexible. (When Pluto is involved, negotiations become dictates. Pluto is known to foster "scorched earth" types of negotiation, which translates into "my way or the highway." On top of this, Saturn will be in hard angle to the moon too, indicating that there will be no way to avoid acknowledging one's responsibility or alternatively, accepting a loss and moving on. It gives me no pleasure telling you this news, dear Scorpio. This looks like a painful full moon, and I hope you can prepare for it. Pluto is your ruling planet, and Mars is your secondary ruler, so Scorpios of all birthdays will feel this heat.
Jarring financial news will surface as early as Wednesday, December 10, when Uranus will be in hard angle to the Sun. The full moon will follow on Friday, December 12, but all full moons have an area of influence of four days, so things will peak in that time frame. As you see, you won't have much time to maneuver.
Because Mars and Saturn will be at hard angles on the heels of these two aspects on Monday, December 15, the episode will end at that time - by then you'll need a solution. The good part is that events will move rapidly. You will need to find a fast solution, and the episode will be over just as quickly. Be thankful that this full moon falls early enough in December, hopefully not to affect your spirit at end-of-the-month holidays.
You won't see what's coming, so there's not much you can do to prepare. Normally I would say, keep your schedule light near the full moon, but at holiday time, I realize that's nearly impossible. Do the best you can, dear Scorpio.
Once you get to December 21, when the Sun moves into Capricorn, your spirits will rise and life will seem better and easier. A meeting with a powerful person on December 22 could bring you a financial breakthrough and the opening of a new financial path. It is also possible that someone will ask you to sign a contract. If you have studied it beforehand, you can do so.
December 24 brings more good news, quite suddenly, just when you thought nothing much would happen at month's end. Just as the full moon news is to be unexpected, news you get on Christmas Eve will be too, but this time it's exciting news - just the kind you wanted to hear!
If you are close to your sister or brother, you will grow even closer this month - particularly so near the holidays. You will have much greater than usual interaction with one another, and have plenty to discuss. Most importantly, your sibling will have a calming influence on you. She or he may offer sound advice and a few ideas to unlock a current dilemma.
Astrologically, if you find yourself in a tight spot, always look to the position of Jupiter for clues for a way out. In your case, Jupiter is still in your third house, a place this great planet of good fortune has been based throughout 2008. (If you feel Jupiter has not been working, know that Jupiter was retrograde and weak for much of the recent time - but no more. Just you watch and see!).
This is why I mentioned your sister or brother as helpful to talk over your recent thoughts, plans, and any concerns, as Jupiter will enlarge and deepen your relationship in a warm and very wonderful way.
If you have never had a good relationship with your sibling, this year could change all that, so keep an open mind. This December, offer an olive branch. You may see the riff you have between you and a sibling heal, for December 2008 represents one of your best periods in more than ten years for healing your sibling relationship. By January 5, Jupiter will leave this placement, not to return until 2019, so while you have this advantage, use it!
There is another bonus to having Jupiter visit your third house - your ability to communicate clearly, intelligently, and possibly even with humor will be superb all month. and that may help you in a business sense. Your mind will crackle with ideas, and since Jupiter is in Capricorn, the sign ruling humor, you could come across as quite relaxed and funny (even if you aren't)! This will help you be perceived as a winner, and one everyone will want to have you on their side. If anyone tries to outtalk you or paint you in a corner, you'll be sharp and see this to be true - and you won't let them!
If you need to sign a contact this month, do so on December 26, a day that will bring gifts of stability from Saturn and Mercury, or even better, on December 31, when a highly lucrative outcome is likely, thanks to the combined gifts of Mercury and Jupiter. If you need to do so earlier in the month, December 1 sparkles too, due to the interplay of Venus and Jupiter.
Your home may be a focus, and if you want to dress it up with color and flowers, do so once Venus enters your home sector from December 7 to January 3. Next year, 2009, brings sensational news for real estate and fixing up your home. We will talk more about that next month, so stay tuned. Jupiter is heading to this area and that's going to bring huge advantages to you all through the coming year!
Your friends also seem to be playing a big role in your month, and you will see much more of them. Mercury rules the friendship area of your chart and this planet of news will be unusually active in December in a highly friendly, encouraging way. You can count on your friends, and they will be there for you when you need them most. This is a great comfort! You will consider your friends as your family, and certainly they will want you to think of them that way.
You may find that romantically, you will be more involved with group activities, like parties, which, for Scorpio, is unusual. You tend to prefer one-on-one get-togethers, but this month seems to bring you into the center of holiday festivities. It will represent an enjoyable change, so relish the time to see your pals.
Quick, short travel appears to be on the agenda too for a noticeable part of your schedule in December. Even though it looks like you won't go too far, what you do will be fun and relaxing. Your opportunities to get away will open up spontaneously and quite unexpectedly. If you say you have no money for extra gas or overnight accommodations now, this trend will be so strong that it looks like someone loves you and wants to be with you. That person will help make your trip(s) possible.
Once the new moon appears in your travel sector December 27 and in the ten days that follow, even more luck will flow to you. A contract may appear and generally, all kinds of news coming to you will be comfortingly upbeat.
If you were born on October 30 or within five days of this date, you will benefit most.
For New Year's Eve, no matter when your birthday falls, you may drive out of town to accept an invitation to a party or to have a very special dinner out at a luxurious restaurant. The moon will be in Pisces then too, an ideal placement for Scorpio, for the moon in Pisces will encourage meaningful exchanges and tender romantic moments.
Also, Mercury will conjoin Jupiter on December 31 - the only time this year - and this is a sensational aspect, especially for travel and news that reaches you. In fact, all the news you get on New Year's Eve, even earlier in the day, should be completely unexpected and quite thrilling - and that could include news about money. By evening you'll have a certain glow that will be unmistakable, dear Scorpio! Who could resist you?
Summary
For such a joyous and even holy month, December has an unusual financial tone to it.
December certainly starts off nicely enough, with Venus waltzing close to good fortune planet Jupiter. Your partner is obviously smitten with you and it shows - he or she is a gem. Actually all twosome partnerships and collaborations seem to be going quite well as the month takes off.
Storm clouds will start to gather at the full moon in Gemini on December 12, plus or minus three to four days, and will focus your attention on credit, a loan, mortgage, inheritance, venture capital investment, scholarship, or insurance claim, to name a few examples. The money you think about seems to be an outside chunk of money you need.
Whatever it is, a certain sum of money that you thought was coming through seems to be held up or cancelled, or it may be that your credit card balances have climbed much higher than you had estimated. This latter case is very possible, because Mars will occupy your second house of earned income and possessions all month, always an indicator of higher-than-usual spending. (Thankfully, Mars will move away from this spot next month.)
This full moon on December 12 will be very difficult, for this moon will be hurling thunderbolts at Uranus, Saturn, Mars, and the Sun. Mama mia! This moon is about to take on a gang of five big guys and attempt to punch them all out cold. Uranus' presence suggests that a social event or love relationship could be troublesome or that a social event is forming part of the overall financial problem. Saturn's presence suggests that you may worry that you are running out of time to find the money you need. I say this because Saturn represents time in a chart.
Mars' future position tells me that if you sit down and reconfigure the problem, you may hit on a solution in two months - on February 17, the date Jupiter will align with Mars. You'd have to begin now, of course, if you are to get a resolve by mid-February. The tension you will face will be strong, as all these planets will be squaring off, each with their arms folded over their chest, unwilling to help the other.
You will have an ace up your sleeve, however, and that's your remarkable ability to think on your feet. This will be very apparent from December 21 to January 5, but doubly so from December 27 - January 5.
While your ability to convince others of taking your point of view is always strong, with Pluto, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, the Sun, and new moon (December 27) in your house of thinking and communicating, this month you will be able to convince anyone of anything. The universe is giving you the gift of a silver tongue - don't underestimate its power. Get on the phone and talk to anyone who will talk with you!
Plan a meeting for one of your best days, December 22, when Pluto will conjoin the Sun, and you could get just the news you had hoped to hear. More positive surprise news should arrive on December 24 (Mercury conjunct Uranus) and on December 26 (Mercury conjunct Saturn).
As I will discuss in a minute, Mercury won't be finished helping you to the hilt - wait until you see how wonderful December 31 will be for you! I tell you this so that you won't give up! Never give up, no matter how hard the full moon may be for you! You can find solutions! This month may be intense, but its low lows will be countered balanced by high highs.
You may also decide to travel at month's end, and that would be a splendid idea. Your quick trip would turn out to be very refreshing and welcome. More importantly, it will help you take your mind off financial matters that came earlier, and allow you to focus on family, friends, and the true meaning of the season. In the end, the love you share with others is most important, dear Scorpio.
December and 2008 will end on a very happy note! Mercury, planet of news, will meet with Jupiter, planet of happiness. Something is about to thrill you to your toes. Plan to celebrate in a way that sounds comfortable yet fun. It might involve taking a special little trip out of town, perhaps to attend a party with friends or to enjoy a romantic dinner alone with your one and only. Your planets suggest that you open a bottle of champagne, as you should! January introduces a new influence, one that will bring good news involving your home. It's all very exciting - so celebrate!

Dear Readers,
Astrology Zone® was born on December 14, 1995, thirteen years ago! That means we debuted three years before Google, which makes me giggle every time I think about it! Astrology Zone's® success is due to YOU dear readers. Thank you very much for all your enthusiasm, support and ideas that you send us.
This year brought my own TV show on Comcast, on demand, which is very exciting! If you have Comcast you can see a new show each week, any time you want, "on demand." Just go to "Cutting Edge" and then to "Paranormal" and look for "Horoscopes." That's me! In America, there never has been an astrology program provided by a major cable operator or network. True! Never in the history of the country! There has been public access but nothing produced as beautifully has the show Comcast is doing, and I am very grateful. On a more serious note, in this holiday season, I would like to urge you to consider giving the gift of life, a pint of blood, at your local blood supply center.
Many of you know that I was the recipient of 38 blood transfusions at various points in my life. I don't have hemophilia but instead was born with a rare, life-threatening internal bleeding disorder that affected my left leg and hip. In my teen years through early adulthood, I spent a great deal of time in hospitals, but doctors were successful in fixing my problem completely. I was very grateful for the kindness of 38 strangers who had donated blood that I was to receive.
I will spend the rest of my life trying to thank those people. Please help me by continuing the tradition and giving blood, too, this holiday season. In these tough economic times we are all trying to find ways to give to charities in affordable ways. I can think of no better gift than giving a pint of blood, the gift of life. Blood supplies go down at holiday time, so blood banks are always in dire need of donations at this time of the year.
One of our staff members, Edward Rubinstein, who handles our press contact, is a big blood donor. The New York Blood Center regularly honors high-level donors at black tie dinners and Edward is always among those invited. A Cancer, he is bashful about getting attention about this, and says "it's nothing" but we think he is doing amazing work, and we are so VERY proud of him! It is an Astrology Zone® tradition to go, as a group, to the blood bank at this time of the year. We all have lunch together afterwards. Edward gives blood ten times more often than we do, for the Blood Bank calls Edward directly when they are in need. He is truly a good person, and he inspires us all deeply.
On another subject, this particular holiday season, I urge you to be sensitive to those around you. These are tough times and there probably is someone near you who is suffering but is too shy to let you know. It may be a beloved relative, friend, neighbor or a coworker.
Listen closely to what this person says to you, for this person will be trying to hide their need for help. Fill in the blanks between the words to find subtle clues. Sometimes doing simple things, like spontaneously inviting a neighbor for a home cooked dinner, or paying for a daily newspaper delivery to a bedridden relative, is all you need to do to touch that person's heart.
I have a bit of a surprise for you that I have been working on for several months. Here goes!

Watch Susan Deliver Your Forecast On TV Each Week
Comcast Cable TV now features me (Susan Miller) on their "On Demand" channel. If you're a Comcast Cable subscriber and already have their On Demand package, you can see me deliver your forecast each week for free.
Simply go to your On Demand channel button (located on your Comcast Cable remote), then go to the category "Cutting Edge." From there you need to go to "The Paranormal Channel." Every carrier works a little differently, so here are the instructions for you:
Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile customers: When you text AZP to 75777, you will receive a text message back with step-by-step instructions on how to download the application.
Example: Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it Now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone® Premier™. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application, so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!
AT&T and Sprint customers: When you text AZP to 75777, you will receive a text message back that includes a link to the application. It is a more direct process than the one outlined above.
Not all phones are equipped to take the new technology, so check first with your provider and explain which phone you own. If you purchased a cell phone in the past year, chances are your phone is ready.
iPhone: Our application is READY!! Go the Apple's App store and search for "Astrology Zone® Premier™"! I have it on my iPhone and it's very robust!
Every carrier sets their own rates, so check with your provider to find out what Astrology Zone® Premier™ would cost for you. I can say it's very affordable, and that I give you much more information than competitive services.
You will be able to choose when you want your text forecasts to arrive - the morning of the day of the forecast, or the night before. You're in charge, always!
